ECU Remapping Service Trading Terms and Conditions

Technician statute:

PAS Performance is a Trading names of Radical Auto Services (SW) Ltd (RAS) technicians who trade under the RAS trading names provide professional remapping services solely originating from PAS Performance use their own corporate Branding. RAS Performance technicians of or partners of RAS Performance or any other future trading name will bear no responsibility or liability for the Liabilities of services carried out by a RAS technician.

14 day guarantee:

PAS provide a 14 day money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the work carried out by the technician RAS will return your vehicle to standard and provide you with a refund of the full purchase price minus a small processing fee. The conditions of this guarantee state that you are responsible for taking your vehicle to your closest RAS technician where the re-mapped file will be removed and the original maps will be returned to your vehicle ECU (also known as returning the vehicle to standard). You (the client) will need to provide proof that the vehicle was remapped by RAS. A signed original copy of this form, provided at the time of remapping must be provided to the RAS technician. Your closest technician may not be the person who originally remapped your vehicle. The file RAS will be returning back to your vehicle will be the original file RAS retrieved from your vehicle at the time of remapping. If RAS need to return an ECU file to standard or up load a new file to your vehicle, there will be a small processing fee of £40.00.

Payment:

The client is required to pay for the remapping service in full with cleared funds prior to the technician carrying out the remap service or on completion o f the remap service. If a deposit has already been paid to PAS, only the balance will be due at the time of remapping and should be paid to the technician remapping your vehicle.

Stage 1-Tune:

The ECO-Tune remap service which RAS provide aims to assist in reducing the fuel consumption of your vehicle. The vehicle should be driven in accordance with the RAS guidelines. With the ECO-Tune service, fuel economies are provided through increasing the available power in an engine. The more torque that an engine has, the less gear changes are required, which contributes to how much fuel is consumed. RAS does not guarantee the fuel savings that will be made as fuel savings are dependent on the manner in which a vehicle is driven. Please see the reverse for driving tips. Economy saving: The fuel savings information provided by RAS on the RAS websites are estimates only.

Stage 2- Tune:

The Mix-Tune remap service which RAS provide aims to increase the overall brake horse power (BHP) and torque available to the vehicle being remapped. With the Mix-Tune service, RAS concentrate on fine tuning certain engine management systems including the fuel injection, the injection threshold, the turbo pressure, the turbo threshold, torque and the torque threshold. Although RAS offer a guideline relating to the power increases and mpg available to specific vehicles, RAS does not guarantee the power increases or mpg that will be made.

The brake horse power (BHP) and torque gain information provided by PAS on the PAS website are estimates only.

Stage 3- Tune:

The MAX-Tune remap service which RAS provide aims to increase the overall brake horse power (BHP) and torque available to the vehicle being remapped. With the MAX-Tune service, RAS concentrate on fine tuning certain engine management systems including the fuel injection, the injection threshold, the turbo pressure, the turbo threshold, torque and the torque threshold. Although RAS offer a guideline relating to the power increases available to specific vehicles, RAS does not guarantee the power increases that will be made.

Insurance notification:

RAS advises all clients to notify their insurance companies that their vehicle has been remapped. RAS takes no responsibility in this matter.

Vehicle condition and serviceability:

It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that the vehicle and vehicle components are in good condition and have been serviced and maintained in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines. RAS cannot be held responsible for the failure of any vehicle components which may arise after RAS have conducted a remapping service. The client needs to be aware that the additional power that can be gained from remapping a vehicle may have an adverse effect on particular components, where components are not of suitable standard or have not been maintained in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines. RAS advises against the remapping of high mileage vehicles where certain engine components may be worn. RAS will accept no responsibility for engine or engine component failure. It is recognised that remapping a vehicle may highlight any weakness that your vehicle or any components already have.

Liability limitation:

In the event of death or personal injury arising from RAS's negligence, RAS will not be liable to the client for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages or loss of profit arising out of the RAS service, even if RAS has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to the RAS technician. Save in respect of claims for death or personal injury arising from RAS's negligence, RAS's liability and the liability of the RAS technician to the client for actual damages for any cause whatsoever, regardless of the form of the action will be strictly limited to the fees paid to RAS or to the RAS technician. The limitation on RAS's liability will apply regardless of the form of action, whether under statute, in contract or in tort including negligence or any other form of action. For the purpose of this clause PAS includes its employees, sub-contractors, technicians and suppliers who shall all have the benefit of the limits and exclusions of liability set out above in the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act1999.
